No Xplode vs Hyper FX

No Xplode and Hyper FX are both pre-workouts manufactured by BSN. When it comes to fitness supplements, it can be pricey trying out multiple offerings in pursuit of the best tasting and most effective pre workouts. So if you are debating which of these two to spend your hard earned money on, my team and I can help. We have years of experience testing supplements like these. Read on to discover our findings.

No Xplode vs. Hyper FX Compared

No Xplode and Hyper FX are pre-workouts created by BSN Supplements, a supplement manufacturer founded in 2001 that manufactures and sells various bodybuilding products.

Despite both supplements being pre-workouts that offer similar benefits, including an increase in energy and focus, they have different formulations, so the results you experience will vary. Let’s look at both products to see the likely effects and which pre-workout is better.

What’s In BSN Hyper FX?

Hyper FX contains several ingredients proven to offer a range of benefits. Unfortunately, the label shows that the dosages of each ingredient are hidden within proprietary blends. These blends include the Enduro Fusion Blend, the Shock Force Spectrum Blend, the Thermic Matrix Blend, and the Neuro Power Composite Blend.

The Enduro Fusion Blend contains:

The Shock Force Spectrum Blend contains D-aspartic acid (which may increase testosterone in certain men) and vitamin D3, an energy booster that offers immune system support.

Next is the Thermic Matrix Blend, which contains a hefty dose of caffeine, with 270 mg in each serving. This blend also includes various nootropics designed to increase focus and drive while working out.

It also contains red and black pepper, both thermogenic ingredients designed to boost fat burning while helping to improve the absorption of the other ingredients.

Finally, the Neuro Power Composite Blend, which contains betaine anhydrous, is shown to increase endurance levels. It also contains sodium bicarbonate. This ingredient has been shown to settle upset stomachs, which is handy as pre-workouts often cause this side effect.

How to Take BSN Hyper FX

Mix one level scoop with 3-6 oz of water for best results. Consuming this mixture 30-45 minutes before working out would be best.

Once you have assessed your tolerance to this pre-workout, you can increase the dosage to two scoops with 6-8 oz of water, again to be consumed 30-45 minutes before exercise. You should avoid consuming more than two scoops daily.

What’s In No Xplode?

Like its sister product, this pre-workout relies on proprietary blends, including a Myogenic Matrix, Enduro Shot, Thermic Energy, NO Alpha Fusion, and Shock Composite Blend.

The Myogenic Matrix contains ingredients such as creatine, taurine, dicalcium phosphate, and disodium phosphate. Combined, these ingredients may boost muscle mass and strength while helping reduce pain and increase mental focus. Creatine, in particular, has been shown to improve athletic performance.

Enduro Shot contains beta-alanine, which we have already discussed regarding its performance-enhancing benefits.

The Thermic Energy blend contains N-Acetyl Tyrosine, tyrosine, caffeine and the caffeine enhancer pterostilbene. This blend is designed to give you a long-lasting energy boost.

Despite the NO Alpha Fusion blend containing ingredients such as L-Citrulline Malate and danshen extract, our research has found that despite claiming to boost nitric oxide production, the increase is negligible.

Finally, we have the Shock Composite blend that contains DMAE, DL-Phenylalanine, and toothed clubmoss extract. Although this blend is claimed to boost focus, this is unlikely due to the low dosage.

How to Take No Xplode

Mix one scoop of No Xplode with 4-6 oz of cold water for best results. You should not shake this in a mixer bottle; use a utensil to stir the mixture instead.

Consuming this mixture 20-30 minutes before training would be best. You should only consume up to two scoops at a time and no more than two scoops within a day due to the high caffeine content.

Warnings and Potential Side Effects of Both Pre-Workouts

You need to be aware of several things before using these pre-workouts. If you worry about using them, speaking to your doctor or physician is always advisable.

As with most pre-workouts, you should not use them if you are:

  • Under the age of 18
  • If you are pregnant
  • Breastfeeding

You should avoid this pre-workout if you are sensitive to caffeine, beta-alanine, or niacin. You should also avoid consuming any other products that contain caffeine, as taking too much can cause problems such as:

  • Nervousness
  • Irritability
  • Sleeplessness
  • Rapid heartbeat

The manufacturers also recommend that you avoid alcohol and only use this pre-workout alongside a healthy diet with at least 100 oz of water consumed daily.

Hyper FX and No Xplode Similarities

Both supplements have a few similarities; the most notable is the same manufacturer, so quality levels should be similar.

These pre-workouts also contain many of the same ingredients, such as caffeine, taurine, beta-alanine, and several vitamins and minerals. The manufacturers have also chosen to hide the dosages of each ingredient by using proprietary formulas, which make it almost impossible to tell what effects each product will have. It is quite possible that some, or all, of the included ingredients are dosed too low for noticeable effects.

Is No Xplode Discontinued?

No Xplode has not been discontinued. It is still available to buy from several online retailers. The formula has been reformulated numerous times, possibly accounting for this confusion. Hyper FX, on the other hand, has been discontinued. However, you can still see it available at a few select online outlets.

Does No Xplode Give You a Pump?

No Xplode contains beta-alanine, which will likely give you a pump in high enough doses (1000 mg) while working out.

How Much Creatine Is in a Scoop of No Xplode?

The creatine in No Xplode is found in the Myogenic Matrix, which contains several other ingredients. While this matrix makes up 5.1 grams of the 18.5 grams serving, there is no way of knowing how much of it is creatine and not the other ingredients.

Conclusion

While both products are okay, neither pre-workout stands out and is not recommended.

The use of proprietary blends is a pet peeve of mine, and I wonder why manufacturers hide their products’ dosages. It is almost impossible to see how effective they could be without this. In this case, I recommend sticking to a product that does not hide behind proprietary blends when it comes to the ingredients that matter.
