Greg Heilers is a writer on green business and sustainability for private clients and top publications such as GreenBiz and AgFunder News. Outside of work, Greg ditches the keyboard for the hiking trails and open space right outside his front door, or gets his hands dirty in his family’s backyard vegetable beds.
Greg was committed to sustainability as a volunteer for the ecological and biodiversity department at his alma mater, the University of California at Santa Barbara. After graduating, he had the privilege to learn from opportunities such as leading international workcamps for Solidarités Jeunesses in France, establishing a food forest at Bustan Qaraaqa in the West Bank of Palestine, re-planting the Caledonian Forest with Trees for Life, earning his permaculture design certificate from The Possibility Alliance in La Plata, Missouri, and consulting with Chico Mendes Reforestation Project in Pachaj, Guatemala.
